We face forward

I took a look at the We Face Forward exhibition at the Manchester Art Gallery yesterday. The exhibition centres on contemporary art and music by West African artists, and takes place across galleries, museums, music venues and libraries across the city. I loved it, especially the huge shimmering wall hanging by El Anatsui, made from decidedly unglamorous bottle tops.

This sketch was inspired by what I saw (in a roundabout way).
