All wrapped up

Don’t know about your neck of the woods, but we have snow falling fast here this morning. It is a day for wrapping up warmly and drinking lots of hot coffee.

I’m at the end of the first week of the last module of the brilliant course The Art & Business of Surface Pattern Design devised by Rachael Taylor and Beth Nicholls. The e-course tells you everything you need to know to get involved in the surface pattern design world – designing for everything from greetings cards to wallpaper, stationery, textiles to ceramics (even nails!). Basically, if there’s a surface out there, it can be beautified! You can find out more about all three modules of the course here.

So I thought I’d share one of my collections with you. You’ll see that the cold weather has been on my mind, as my designs for gift wrap are based on the kinds of colours you might find in warm cashmere clothing – some ice cream colours with soft bluey greys.
