The scent of summer

The first Gertrude Jekyll rose in the garden this summer. If you’ve never smelt one of these, go find one and treat yourself. I wish I could bottle the perfume.

  1. Mmmmmm, I can smell it from here. How about rosé petal perfume or rose jelly, keep the smell for much longer, just like my gran used to do.

    • Your comment instantly brought back childhood memories of making rose petal perfume with a friend whose mother was a florist. The garden was absolutely dripping with roses so we could make some pretty heady concoctions!

    • Thank you Nia – the rose bush is now covered with these. I pick a fresh one each day to put in my studio 🙂
