Spring cleaning and Scotland

A quick post to say hello and share this photo from the archives. I am in the midst of spring cleaning (everything) and keep coming across distractions …

Had a wonderfully sunny weekend exploring Edinburgh. I hadn’t been there since my student days (which is some time ago). In sunshine (but freezing cold), we explored Holyrood Palace, still used as the Queen’s residence in Scotland. (Quite an experience to stand in what was Mary, Queen of Scots’ bedchamber.)

The weather was not so great on Sunday, so we took a look at the Scottish National Portrait Gallery (which includes the BP Portrait Award 2014 exhibition until 12th April) and the Scottish National Gallery. Both are astonishingly free admission.
