Yupo roses

I have spent the morning sorting through a stack of paintings, sketchbooks and calligraphy in the studio.

I came across this watercolour painting on yupo paper. Someone described painting on this kind of paper as “like painting on greased glass.” In my experience, that’s a pretty accurate description: watercolours behave very differently on this surface, and take a long time to dry.

I think it might be time to order some more yupo paper – I like the effects.
